Libya Football Federation is set to challenge the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) recent ruling on the forfeited Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria, in Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

 Sources from Brila.net report that Libya is contesting the decision, which awarded Nigeria a 3-0 victory after logistical issues led to the match’s cancellation.

The LFF’s appeal will reportedly be submitted within the three-day allowable window, with legal representation handling the matter discreetly to avoid media coverage. This decision follows CAF’s findings, which determined that Libya had breached various regulations surrounding the October 15 match. During this time, Nigeria’s Super Eagles faced severe logistical obstacles, including an unplanned diversion to Al-Abraq International Airport, where the team was stranded without basic amenities for over 18 hours.
