Bournemouth Star Switch Allegiance To Nigeria, Eyes 2025 AFCON With Flying Eagles

Following the distinct and outstanding performance of the Nigeria National team, another British born, Nigeria descent Malachi Ogunleye has decided to switch allegiance to Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Bournemouth star was born in England to British mother and Nigeria Father which made him eligible to represent both country.
The versatile midfielder is in the first of a two-year scholarship with AFC Bournemouth having been on the club’s books since he was 11.
Ogunleye under the tutelage of U18 coach James Lowry was able to prove himself and his influence made him a top target for several clubs across Europe.
Despite being eligible to play for the Junior Three Lions, Ogunleye has made it clear he prefers to play for Nigeria.
“I’ve been to Nigeria once and was due to go again before Covid came. I’m looking to go again this year.
“I’ve had some recognition from Nigeria so it’s been nice to see that.
I have decided to play for Nigeria hopefully, one day I’ll get the chance to play for the Flying Eagles at the next U20 African Cup of Nations", he said.
