Boxing: NBF Reiterates Commitment To IBA

By Sampson Adedeji

Despite being embroiled in crisis, the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has reiterated its commitment to the International Boxing Federation( IBF), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Another parallel body was created to rival IBF but NBF through its vice president Omo Agege confirmed their commitment to IBF.

"We reaffirm our strong loyalty to the IBA, the only international body recognized by the IOC, and we stand in solidarity with the IBA family.

â€œI wish to make it unequivocally clear that the NBF dissociates itself from World Boxing.

An important decision of this magnitude can only be taken by the Board of Directors and the Congress, neither of which have been convened.

As Vice President of NBF, I affirm that I am not aware of any rigorous application to join World Boxing. For the moment, no African country has yet joined World Boxing", he said.
