Brescia Fined ₦19m For Racist Abuse On Ex-Remo Stars Prodigy

Italy's Federal Prosecutor's Office has imposed a fine on Brescia due to racist chants directed at former Remo Stars prodigy Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
Akinsanmiro, who is on loan from Inter Milan to Sampdoria in Serie B, was targeted during a recent match.
The Serie B Sports Judge penalized Brescia with a substantial fine but chose not to close any sections of the stadium.
A statement published on the Lega B website noted: "Fine of €12,000.00 (about ₦19,204,800 million: to Soc. BRESCIA for having its supporters engage in discriminatory chants towards a player of the opposing team, which forced the referee to suspend the match for about a minute in the 22nd minute of the first half."
According to protocol, the announcement regarding the statement against discrimination was made, and the Federal Prosecutor's Office estimated that the supporters responsible for the chant constituted 8% of the fans present in the stand.
