Brume, Usoro, Chukwuebuka, Others Set For Ed Murphey Classic In United States

A number of Nigeria's leading field athletes will be in action on Friday at the Ed Murphey Classic, as they continue their preparations for the major championships later this season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In the women's long jump, Nigeria will be represented by experienced duo Ese Brume and Ruth Usoro, both aiming to deliver strong performances against a competitive international field.

High jumper Temitope Adeshina will also return to competition for the first time since clinching the NCAA title, with the Nigerian expected to build on her impressive collegiate campaign.

Meanwhile, Nigeria's record shot put holder Chukwuebuka Enekwechi is set for another stern test in the men's shot put event. Enekwechi will be looking to improve on his outing at last week's Prefontaine Classic as he continues his preparations for the rest of the athletics season.

The Ed Murphey Classic provides another important opportunity for the Nigerian athletes to fine-tune their form and compete against some of the world's best field event stars.
