Newly turned professional athlete Favour Ofili has booked her place in the semi-final of the Women's 200 meters in the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Budapest, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ofili turned into a pro a few weeks ago after completing her task at the United States University.

The Nigerian track star competed in Heat 1 of the 200 meters and was placed 4th in a race that was won by the Bahama's Antonique Strachan.

Ofili had to wait for the completion of the other heats to be sure of her qualification to the semi-final of the event.

After the completion of other heats Ofili was confirmed to have advanced to the women's 200m semis after securing the first non-automatic spot as her time of 22.66s was the 16th fastest overall.
