Nigeria's 4x100 metres men's relay team quest for a place in the 2023 World Athletics in Budapest was dashed again in Benin Republic as they failed again, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side missed their qualification by mere whiskers last week at the Yaba College of Technology in Lagos and had to move to Benin to try their luck.

To qualify for the relay event in World Athletics, the team must be in the top 16 to be able to participate.

The quartet of Favour Ashe, Kayinsola Ajayi, Alaba Akintola and Godson Brume dropped the baton in Benin.

Ajayi couldn’t get it to Alaba on the 2nd exchange and they were unable to meet up at the end of the game.

They will have to try another meets to be able to qualify for the event in Budapest.
