Despite just recovering from a minor injury sustained last week through a car accident, Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was able to make a headline again for Bayer Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

After missing the midweek Champions League game against Brest, Boniface returned to the starting line up of the champions against Werder Bremen.

And he was able to make his presence count as he netted the opening goal in the 30th minute.

Duksch equalized for the host in the 74th minute before Felix Agu own goal restored Leverkusen 's lead.

Romano restored parity late in the game as it ended 2-2.

Boniface has now scored 6 leagues goals for Leverkusen and 8 goals in all competitions this season.
