Bundesliga: Boniface Reaffirms His Value, Says Alonso

Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso has emphasized how crucial Nigerian forward Victor Boniface is to the team, following his key performance in a 3-1 win over Hoffenheim, where Boniface scored, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Boniface had nearly completed a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Nasr last weekend, only for the transfer to fall through.

"I have always had trust in him; this was an important moment for him, especially after his injury," Alonso remarked.

He added, "Last week's situation was a bit strange and unpleasant, but it was vital that he regained his sense of importance and felt the love of the fans. That's essential for his mental well-being."
