Sampson Adedeji
It was a night of mixed emotions for Super Eagles striker Gift Orban, who found the net but later picked up an injury in Hoffenheim's 3-1 away win over Werder Bremen, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Orban, who joined the Bundesliga side from French Ligue 1 club Olympique Lyon during the winter transfer window, has quickly become a key player with his impressive performances.
The match started with Werder Bremen taking the lead through an unfortunate own goal by Nsoki. However, Hoffenheim responded in the 28th minute with Anton Stach's equalizer.
Thomas Bischol put the visitors ahead just before halftime, making it 2-1 in the 44th minute. Orban then sealed the victory with a well-taken goal in the 64th minute.
However, the Nigerian striker's night was cut short when he was forced off in the 75th minute due to an injury. Despite his absence, Hoffenheim held firm to secure all three points.
