Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy is set to once again showcase the country's musical influence on the global stage when he performs at the halftime show of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final on Sunday, 19 July, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The highly anticipated final, featuring Spain and Argentina, will also include performances from a host of internationally acclaimed artists in what is expected to be one of the biggest entertainment spectacles in football history.
Among the stars scheduled to appear are Justin Bieber, Shakira, Madonna, BTS, and the PS22 Chorus. Beloved characters from Sesame Street and The Muppets are also expected to feature as part of the star-studded production.
The halftime show is being curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, while Global Citizen is overseeing production. The organisation says the event will also serve as a platform to raise funds for education programmes and football initiatives benefiting children around the world.
Festivities will begin 90 minutes before kick-off with an elaborate closing ceremony featuring performances by Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, and internet personality IShowSpeed.
Award-winning singer Jennifer Hudson will perform the United States national anthem ahead of the final.
