Côte d’Ivoire 2025: Flying Eagles Get Nine Days Break, Resume Camping March 10

The Flying Eagles, have been given a short break following their two-match tour of Cote d'Ivoire last week, BSNSports.com.ng.

Players and officials were granted nine days off after arriving from Abidjan on Saturday evening. The team will regroup in Abuja on Monday, March 10th.

Under the guidance of coach Aliyu Zubairu, the Flying Eagles won one match and lost the other during the tour.

Captain Daniel Bameyi scored from the penalty spot and forward Divine Oliseh added another goal, leading to a 2-0 victory against the Ivorian Young Elephants on Wednesday.

However, the outcome was different in the second match on Friday, where the hosts triumphed with a score of 2-0 at the Stade Félix Houphouët Boigny.

As the tournament approaches, Nigeria will face Egypt, South Africa, and Morocco in Group B of this year's Africa U20 Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Cote d'Ivoire from April 26th to May 18th.

The top two teams from this group will secure spots in the quarter-finals.

The final tournament will feature 13 teams divided into three groups, including a five-team Group A.

Consequently, the top two teams from the other two groups will also qualify for the last eight, as will the two best third-placed teams across all groups.

All four semi-finalists will represent Africa at the FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile, which is set for September 27th to October 19th.
