The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) has officially confirmed the host nations for its upcoming continental championships, with Botswana, Mauritius, and Algeria set to stage major athletics events in the coming years, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to the announcement, Botswana will host the African Senior Championships in 2028, while Mauritius has been awarded the rights to organise the 2030 edition of the competition.
In the youth category, Algeria will host the 2027 African U18/U20 Championships, bringing together the continent’s best young athletics talents.
The decisions are part of the CAA’s plans to expand and strengthen athletics development across Africa by giving different nations the opportunity to stage major competitions.
The championships are expected to attract top athletes from across the continent as Africa continues preparations for future global competitions, including the Olympic Games and World Championships.
