Ghizlane Chebbak's stunning strike for Morocco against Chiamaka Nnadozie in goal for Nigeria at the 2024 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final, has been listed for the Goal of the Year category at the CAFAwards25, reports BSNSports.com.ng.
On the grandest stage of all—the final against Nigeria in Rabat—Chebbak delivered.
Just 13 minutes in, she picked up a ball on the edge of the area, controlled it effortlessly, and unleashed a shot that flew past goalkeeper Nnadozie.
CAF unveiled the nominees for the prestigious award, with supporters once again getting the chance to help pick the winner.
Curated by a CAF Technical Panel, the shortlist features 13 goals scored in CAF competitions between 06 January 2025 and 15 October 2025, showcasing outstanding technique and big-moment finishes across the continent.
Voting opened on Thursday, 06 November and closes on Wednesday, 12 November 2025. Fan votes will account for 100% of the final result, underlining this category’s unique status as the only CAF Award with direct public input.
The winner will be announced at the CAF Awards Gala, where CAF will honour players, coaches and teams whose performances defined the period under review.
