CAF CL: Eguma Optimistic On Wydad Clash

After sailing through the hurdle of Liberia's club Watanga FC, the coach of Nigeria's champions Rivers United Stanley Eguma remain hopeful of getting to the group stage of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Rivers United on Sunday lost the second leg of the champions league to Watanga in Liberia but still qualified for the next round of the competition courtesy of a 3-1 in aggregate victory.

While reacting to the result, Eguma commended the efforts of the players and also gave kudos to the hosts for their performance.

"We never expected a game like this after we beat them 3-0 in the first leg, anyway I commend their efforts.

"Fortunately for us, we are better than them, they got their chance and took it and we tried not to let us score again.

"We have to work very hard and improve our performance playing against Wydad is going to be a big match but we are equal to the task", he said.
