Plateau United Football Club of Jos trained for the first time at the Main Bowl of the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja on Friday morning for the return leg, of the 1st round preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League tie against AS Mandji of Gabon coming up on Sunday.

The team which has been in Abuja since Monday preparing for the return league of the CAF Champions League has been using one of the training pitches of the National Stadium, but the Federal Ministry of Sports, custodian of the edifice barred them from using the MKO Abiola Stadium.

It was the same scenario that played out itself when the Super Eagles B team were preparing for the CHAN qualifiers last month.

Plateau United who forced the reigning Gabonese League champions to a pulsating two-all draw at Franceville last weekend, must avoid defeat or a higher scoreline to qualify for the next stage of the competition.

The Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side is flying Nigeria's flag in the completion alongside NPFL champions, Rivers United of Port-Harcourt who also looks good to progress in the competition after inflicting a three-nil win on their Liberian visitors last Sunday.
