CAF CL/CC: Rivers United, Plateau United, Others Get Opponents Tuesday

Barely 24 hours after the African soccer ruling body announced the indefinite postponement of the inter-clubs competitions draw, the body has named a new date for the draw, BSNsports.com.ng report

CAF on Saturday morning announced Monday 8th of August as the draw date only to postpone it indefinitely later in the day.

CAF has decided to have the draw on Tuesday 9th of August at its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.

" The draw for the preliminary rounds of the CAF TotalEnergies 2022-2023 interclub competitions will take place this Tuesday, August 09, 2022 in Cairo, Egypt, at 4:00 p.m. local time." CAF said on its website.

"This draw marks the start of the 2022-2023 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup campaign. Last season, Wydad Athletic Club won the TotalEnergies Champions League while another Moroccan club, RS Berkane, won the TotalEnergies Confederation Cup for the second time in three years.

Dates of the preliminary rounds:

First round (there and back): 09 – 11 September / 16 – 18 September 2022

Second round (there and back): October 07 – 9 / October 14 – 16, 2022," the statements confirmed.
