CAF Champions League Final: AS FAR, Sundowns Protest Referee Appointment

Sampson Adedeji

Moroccan giants AS FAR and South African side Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly protested the appointment of Congolese referee Jean-Jacques Ndala ahead of the CAF Champions League final, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Both clubs are said to be unhappy with the decision of the Confederation of African Football to appoint Ndala for the highly anticipated final.

According to reports, complaints have already been submitted to Confederation of African Football requesting a change of referee before the encounter.

Ndala was previously involved in controversy during the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations between Morocco national football team and Senegal national football team, where some officiating decisions generated reactions from fans and football stakeholders.

CAF is yet to make an official statement regarding the protest from both finalists.
