CAF Congratulates Nigeria On 20th AFCON Qualification

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has congratulated Nigeria after the Super Eagles qualified for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d'Ivoire with a game to spare after beating Sierra Leone 3-2 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Monrovia, the Liberian capital, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Red-hot Victor Osimhen bagged a brace with two first-half goals in the 19th and 33rd minute, to give the Super Eagles a 2-1 lead going into the break.
Mustapha Bundu and Awereus Kargbo were the goal scorers for Sierra Leone as the duo scored in each half of the game
Kelechi Iheanacho was the hero in the 5-goal thriller, scoring the winning goal in the last minute of added time.

Nigeria who made it a double against the Leone Stars whom they beat 2-1 on Matchday 1 of the qualifiers, now leads Group A with 12 points ahead of Guinea Bissau that have 10 points, as both countries have now qualified for the next year’s AFCON.
