The Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Committee is set to convene on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Rabat, Morocco, in a meeting expected to address several key issues affecting African football.

One of the major highlights of the meeting could be the announcement of the host nation for the 2028 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), a decision eagerly anticipated by football stakeholders across the continent.

The Executive Committee is also expected to deliberate on competition calendars, development programs, and organizational matters as CAF continues to shape its long-term strategic direction.

With Rabat hosting the high-level meeting, attention will be firmly fixed on developments surrounding the AFCON 2028 hosting rights, as CAF moves closer to confirming the next destination for Africa’s flagship football tournament.
