CAF Extends Club Licensing Deadline For Continental Competitions
Sampson Adedeji
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially extended the deadline for club licensing applications for the upcoming CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to a communication sent to all Member Associations, the deadline has been moved from June 30 to July 25, giving participating clubs additional time to complete and submit the required documentation.
The extension is expected to provide relief for clubs across the continent that are still finalizing administrative, financial, legal and infrastructural requirements needed to obtain the mandatory club licence.
CAF's club licensing system is a key requirement for participation in its inter-club competitions, ensuring that clubs meet established standards in governance, finance, sporting operations and infrastructure.
With the new deadline in place, eligible clubs now have nearly an extra month to fulfil the licensing criteria ahead of the 2026/27 continental football season.
