Nigeria Premier Football League champions Rangers International, runners-up Rivers United, and third-placed Shooting Stars are set to learn their opponents for the 2026/27 CAF inter-club competitions in August, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The trio, alongside the winner of the Federation Cup, will represent Nigeria on the continental stage, with Rangers expected to compete in the CAF Champions League, while Rivers United, Shooting Stars, and the Federation Cup champions are likely to feature in the CAF Confederation Cup.

According to reports, the draw for the first and second preliminary rounds of both competitions is expected to take place during the first week of August.

The Confederation of African Football is yet to officially confirm the date and venue for the ceremony.

The final list of participating clubs across the continent has also not been confirmed, as several domestic leagues and cup competitions remain ongoing in a number of member associations.

The number of teams that eventually qualify for the competitions will play a crucial role in determining the preliminary-round format, including which clubs will receive byes into the second preliminary round.

Nigerian representatives will be hoping for favourable draws as they prepare to begin their quest for continental success in the upcoming season.
