CAF Introduces VAR To U17, U20 U23, Inter-Club Competitions

African soccer ruling body apply tge use of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to all under-age as well as inter-club competitions taking place in 2023, BSNSports.com.ng understands.

Nigeria's Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles are among the teams that will take part in the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Algeria and Egypt respectively.

The Olympic Eagles are in the final round of the qualifier and will face Junior Syli Stars of Guinea while Rivers United will participate in the group stage of the confederation cup.

The football body on Tuesday announced that VAR will be present in the venues of the underage tournaments while it will be introduced to the inter-club competition from the quarter-finals.

The U20 competitions will start on February 24th to the 16th of March and the U17 will take place between the 30th of April to the 20th of May, 2023.

The quarter-finals of the inter-club competitions will commence in April and run till June while AFCON U23 will be from the 24th of June to the 8th of July, 2023.
