CAF Launches VAR Academy Sampson Adedeji

To improve officiating and check excessive errors during the game, the Confederation of African Football ( CAF) has launched a Video Assistant Referee ( VAR) academy, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

VAR is gradually gaining ground across the continent as various leagues ,including Mauritania and Ivory Coast ,jjointhe hosts of countries who hhaveintroduced it into their leagues. The football body on Thursday afternoon announced that workshop will take place to educate the match officials on the usage of the gadgets. The workshops will take place in Ivory Coast, Tanzania, South Africa, Egypt and Senegal. And 180 officials will be trained during this period.
