CAF Releases Match Schedule For CHAN 2024

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), in collaboration with the Local Organising Committees of the three host countries, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, has officially unveiled the match schedule for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The tournament will kick off on Saturday, August 2, 2025, with co-hosts Tanzania facing Burkina Faso at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The opening match is scheduled for 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT). On Sunday, August 3, the action shifts to Nairobi, where two fixtures will take place.

Hosts Kenya will begin their campaign against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre at 15:00 local time (12:00 GMT). Later that evening, Morocco will battle Angola at Nyayo Stadium at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT).

Meanwhile, the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium will once again take center stage at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT) as Madagascar lock horns with Mauritania in the final match of a thrilling Sunday lineup.

Kampala will host its first matches on Monday, August 4, 2025.

Co-hosts Uganda will face Algeria at 20:00 local time (17:00 GMT), preceded by a clash between Niger and Guinea at 17:00 local time (14:00 GMT), both at Mandela National Stadium. 

The third-place playoff is scheduled for Friday, August 29, 2025, at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, with kick-off set for 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT).

The tournament will conclude the next day, Saturday, August 30, 2025, with the grand finale set to take place at the Moi International Sports Centre in Nairobi at 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT).
