CAF Selects Morocco As ACA Headquarters Location

The Kingdom of Morocco has been selected to host the headquarters of the Africa Clubs Association (ACA), following a competitive bidding process, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

South Africa, Morocco, and Algeria were the three countries vying for the right to house the year-old Continental body.

Both Morocco and Algeria invited the ACA board to inspect their facilities. After reviewing the bids, the ACA board unanimously voted for Morocco during their meeting on Friday.

Paul Bassey, Vice President of ACA and a representative from Nigeria, confirmed the decision, stating,

"After evaluating the bids, we all agreed that Morocco offered the best deal, thanks to its excellent infrastructure and its forward-thinking vision for football development across the continent over the next 50 years."

Bassey also mentioned that ACA will be based in Rabat, sharing office space with CAF and FIFA, which he described as a significant advantage due to Morocco’s growing prominence in global football development.

 Following the meeting, ACA sent a letter to the President of the Moroccan Football Federation, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa, congratulating them on securing the bid.

In the coming weekend, ACA board members will travel to Morocco to officially sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and finalize the agreement.

The visit coincides with the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations draw, scheduled for January 27 in Rabat.

This will provide the ACA executives an opportunity to engage with FIFA, CAF, and National Association officials on club-related matters.
