The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the selection of some of the continent’s finest referees for an elite training camp scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from November 8 to 13, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Among the top officials invited for the intensive program are Peter Waweru (Kenya), Omar Artan (Somalia), Daniel Laryea (Ghana), Dahane Beida (Mauritania), Mustapha Ghorbal (Algeria), Abongile Tom (South Africa), Amin Omar (Egypt), and Issa Sy (Senegal), alongside several others from across the continent.
According to CAF, the high-level training is designed to enhance the referees’ fitness, match management, and decision-making skills ahead of major continental competitions.
The camp will also serve as a key preparatory phase for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), set to kick off in December.
