Sampson Adedeji
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued a reminder letter to its Member Associations, including the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), reiterating the mandatory coaching requirements for national teams and clubs participating in continental competitions, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
CAF stressed that the directive applies not only to men’s football but also to all women’s teams competing under its competitions, including inter-club tournaments and the Women’s Champions League.
The continental governing body further stated that all stipulated qualifications and licensing requirements must be fully met by coaches who are listed for international assignments and permitted to sit on the bench during matches.
“We deeply appreciate the commitment and dedication of the Member Associations in ensuring the successful implementation of these requirements, which have significantly enhanced the integrity of CAF inter-club competitions and the Women’s Champions League,” the letter read.
CAF reaffirmed its determination to uphold professional standards across all its competitions through strict compliance with its coaching regulations.
