The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that referee Jean Ndala will remain in charge of the first leg of the CAF Champions League final in Pretoria despite growing controversies surrounding his appointment, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

CAF stated that no changes will be made to the officiating crew for the highly anticipated encounter, insisting that all appointed match officials will carry out their duties as originally planned.

According to reports, several complaints and petitions were submitted regarding Ndala’s appointment following his controversial performances at the Africa Cup of Nations.

However, CAF disclosed that the complaints were reviewed and subsequently rejected.

The continental football governing body maintained confidence in the officiating team and confirmed that the final will proceed with the designated referees.

The decision is expected to continue generating debate among football fans and stakeholders ahead of the crucial Champions League showdown in South Africa.
