CAF To Increase Champions League, Confederation Cup Cash

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is set to significantly increase prize money across its major club competitions, marking another milestone in the drive to elevate African football, BSNSports.com.ng reports

Under the new structure, the winner of the CAF Champions League will earn up to $6 million, while the CAF Confederation Cup champions will receive $4 million in prize money.

The proposed increases represent a major boost from previous payouts and underscore CAF’s commitment to strengthening the competitiveness and commercial appeal of its club tournaments.

The move is widely seen as a huge step toward rewarding excellence and ensuring clubs are better compensated for success on the continental stage.

Increased financial incentives are expected to help clubs improve infrastructure, retain top talent, and invest more in youth development, ultimately raising the overall standard of African club football.

CAF’s latest decision aligns with broader reforms aimed at modernizing competitions, enhancing global visibility, and making African football more attractive to sponsors, broadcasters, and investors. With higher stakes and greater rewards, the Champions League and Confederation Cup are poised to reach new levels of prestige and competitiveness across the continent.
