CAF has officially confirmed that there will be no increase in the number of slots for the CAF Champions League next season, with the current competition format also set to remain unchanged, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The decision means participating member associations will retain the existing allocation system, despite recent discussions and speculation over a possible expansion of the continent’s premier club competition.

CAF opted to maintain the current structure of the tournament, keeping the same qualification process and format used in recent seasons.

The ruling is expected to end debates surrounding the introduction of additional places for top-performing leagues across Africa ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The CAF Champions League has continued with its present format since the introduction of the expanded group stage system, with clubs across the continent competing for continental supremacy and qualification to global club competitions.
