CAF U17 AFCON: Golden Eaglets Know Quarterfinal Opponents Today

Golden Eaglets will know their quarter-final opponents later today when Cameroon take on Burkina Faso in last group C game, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

With South Sudan disqualified from the 2023 CAF U17 African Nations Cup after five players failed to pass the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test. Group C was left with three teams. Group leaders, Mali pipped Burkina Faso 1-0 and beat Cameroon 2-0 in their first and second group games. With maximum 6 points in two matches, Mali qualified for the quarterfinal leaving the two countries to fight for the last ticket in the group.

Nigeria, group B runners-up had won their first match 1-0 against Zambia before losing same margin to Morocco in their second match. Nigeria came from behind twice to outscore South Africa 3-2 in their last group game to book the quarter-final ticket.

No doubt, winners between Cameroon and Burkina Faso will face Nigeria in the quarter-final.

Cameroon will trade tackles with Burkina Faso in their last group and winners take all match at 8:00pm at the 1956 Stadium Annaba. The quarter final match will hold on 11th May, 2023 in Algiers.
