CAF Women's Champions League: AS FAR Edge Bayelsa Queens In Semis

The dream of Bayelsa Queens reaching the final of this year's CAF Women's champions league has become an illusion as they suffered defeat to AS FAR of Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Despite suffering a defeat in the opening group B game to Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa, the Nigeria champions were able to regain their confidence to qualify from the group.

They defeated TP Mazembe and Wadi Degla of Egypt to pick the semi-final ticket.

Bayelsa Queens finished second in group B and were drawn to face AS FAR who finished first in group A.

AS FAR with the help of the home fans dominated the game from the kickoff and were able to get a goal through Ibtissam Jraidi in the 27th minute of the game.

Bayelsa Queens seized control of the game in the second half after the coach of the team Domo Okara made some vital changes to the team attack.

Despite the threat from the Nigerians, the host was able to hold on until the end of the game and secure their place in the final.

Bayelsa Queens will now have to make do with third place playoff against Simba Queens on Saturday while AS FAR will confront Mamelodi Sundowns in the final on Sunday.
