After suffering a defeat in the opening group match, Nigeria's champions Bayelsa Queens have returned to winning ways in the ongoing 2022 Women's CAF champions league in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria side suffered a 2-1 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns ladies of South Africa in the opening group B match on Monday.

They confronted TP Mazembe on Thursday in their second group game and it ended 2-0 in favour of the WAFU B champions.

It was Joseph Ogoja that netted the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 4th minute before Chinyere Igboamalu added the second goal in the 24th minute of the encounter.

TP Mazembe demonstrated the reasons they are the UNIFFAC champions in the second half by dominating the game.

But the backline of the Prosperity Girl stood up to the game and ensured that they secured the required 3 points at the end of the game.

Bayelsa Queens will need to secure another maximum of points against Wadi Degla in the final group game on Sunday to be sure of a place in the semi-final.
