Sampson Adedeji
Ahead of the crucial third group game against Motema Pembe of DR Congo, Rivers United midfielder Ebube Duru has insisted that they are not going to allow what happened against Diables Noirs to repeat itself, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Congolese side taught Nigeria's champions a bitter lesson in the first group game of the Confederation Cup by walloping them 3-0.
They bounced back strongly in the second match beating ASEC Mimosa by the same scoreline.
While speaking ahead of the game against Motema, Duru admitted that is going to be a very crucial game but they are prepared to secure points in Luanda.
" It is a very crucial game for us, played 2 games lost one and won one.
Now we are playing against Motema Pembe which is in 3rd position with 2 points and is a neutral ground though is their home but there is not going to be an advantage for them because they are playing away from home likewise we, so it's going to be a tough game.
"We knew what the game is all about and we have spoken to ourselves that we have to come out strong and not allow what happened to us against Diables Noirs to repeat itself and make sure we get a maximum of 3 points or at least a point from a game", he said.
