The inability of Nigeria's representative Rivers United to have its game against DC Motema Pembe of DR Congo on Wednesday meant they dropped to second position in the group as ASEC Mimosa picked a valuable away in Congo against Diables Noirs, BSNSports.com.ng has gathered.
The game was shifted to Thursday after the Congolese side failed to arrive in Nigeria due to logistics reasons.
The Ivorian side grabbed the opportunity with both hands and secured 0-1 away in Congo.
Aubin Kramo scored the all-important goal in the 59th minute, finishing off an assist from Anicet Oura to send the side into victory.
Diables on the other hand dropped to third in the standings with four points, quarter-finalsbut still has hopes of qualification to the quarter finals with two rounds of group matches left.
