The result from the second group game on Match-day 1 in Kishasha looked unpalatable for the Nigeria representative, Rivers United as they dropped to the bottom of the group, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Earlier in the day, the Nigeria side succumbed to the firing power of the hosts, Diables Noirs and suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat.

In Ivory Coast, the Ivorian side ASEC Mimosa dominated the game but the visitors did enough to deny them and silenced the home fans.

ASEC worked extremely hard, especially in the second half of the game but Pembe's goalkeeper denied them all the opportunities to get a win as the game ended 0-0.

It means Noirs is now top of the group followed by ASEC, Pembe and Rivers United respectively.

Rivers United will host ASEC Mimosa in the second group game next weekend.
