CAFCC: Asante Kotoko Set Strategy To Silence Kwara United In Nigeria
Sampson Adedeji
Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has revealed that his team will adopt a tactical plan to unsettle Kwara United in the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Ghana FA Cup champions earned a thrilling 4-3 victory over the Nigerian side in the first leg of the preliminary round on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Albert Amoah netted twice, while Emmanuel Antwi and Joseph Ablorh also got on the scoresheet for the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking to the press ahead of the decisive clash at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium in Abuja, Zito praised his players for their resilience but stressed the need for a smarter approach in the away fixture.
“At the end of the day, nobody thought we could even score two or three goals,” Zito said.
“What makes me happy is that we won by four goals to three. Now I will plan how to go there and do what they came here to do.”
The aggregate winner of the tie will progress to face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the next round of the competition.
