CAFCC: Enyimba's Victory Over Black Bulls New Year Gift To Nigerians - Stanley Eguma

Enyimba FC head coach, Stanley Eguma has attributed his side's 4-1 win over Black Bulls in Group D of the CAF Confederation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The People's Elephant began the year with a win after going 10 matches without a win. 

The Aba giants defeated Mozambican side, Black Bulls FC, by 4-1 to secure their first win in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In his post-match reactions, Eguma said: "The result is a New Year gift to Nigerians because Nigerians have been yearning for this kind of result in continental football.

"When I joined the team, what I met on ground was not really comfortable because I have been in the continent in the past and I know what it takes to be there. I spoke with the management and told them that a lot has to be done. When I saw the players, one or two quality players but I still have the problem of injuries. Some of the key players were injured. It gave me that fear but I had to work on the ones available. 

"We have been able to raise the pace in the team, change the mentality and have started showing winning mentality in the team. Winning the game has given them a lot of confidence and reassured them that they can do it and better in subsequent matches."
