CAFCC: How Bereaved Abia Warriors Striker Showcase Class Against Djoliba AC

Abia Warriors striker, Sunday Megwo showcased class and professionalism for his team despite the death of his father before their CAF Confederation Cup encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Abia Warriors were forced to a one-all draw by continental perennial campaigners, Djoliba AC of Mali in their debut CAF Confederation Cup match, played at the iconic Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
However, Megwo, who sadly lost his father, Obi Megw,o on Frida,y 19th September 2025, displayed incredible resilience and strong dedication in representing the club in the CAF Confederation Cup match on Sunday, 21st September 2025.
The club in a statement eulogized his character and commitment despite the unfortunate event saying: "Our deepest condolences go out to the Megwo family during this difficult time.
"This singular action reflects his professionalism and love for the sport. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sunday Megwo and his family in this difficult time, even as we offer our deepest sympathies and support.
"May the soul of the deceased rest in peace, and may God grant the family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss."
Meanwhile, Abia Warriors will now prepare for the return leg scheduled to take place on 28th September 2025, at the Mamadou Konate Stadium in Bamako.
