Sampson Adedeji

The technical adviser of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, has stated that lack of competitive games affected their performance against Etoile Filante, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers on Sunday held their hosts Etoile of Burkina Faso to a goalless draw in the first leg of the second round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

While speaking after the game, Eguma pointed out that their performance was not 100 percent but still gave the players kudos.

"It was not 100 percent performance because this is first time we will be in a competitive competition but I gave them kudos to the players.

"Our tactical plans didn't failed us, we dominated the game and created more chances, by the time we work more on these tactics the goals will definitely come.

"It is good to play at home, it is our fortress and we are hoping our fans will come and cheer us.

This is a new team and we want our fans to come and cheer us and we are going to cap it with a victory", he said.
