El-Kanemi Warriors head coach, Zubairu Aliyu has decried that due to lack of Grade A friendlies, his team was unable to secure victory in the CAF Confederation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports. El-Kanemi Warriors salvaged a late draw with Dadjè FC in the CAF Confederation Cup Preliminary Round tie. Aliyu explained that the team missed out on critical preseason preparation due to restrictions imposed by the state governor, which prevented players and officials from leaving the state during strike action. Aliyu expressed his frustration at having to identify weaknesses during the competition rather than in preseason friendlies, emphasizing the importance of such games in fine-tuning the squad. "It is not good to be using a competition proper to know the weakness of your team." Looking ahead to the second leg in Benin Republic, Aliyu remains focused on correcting the mistakes made in the first match.
