Ivorian-born Rivers United forward, Yao Bernard, has expressed his excitement about returning home to play in front of his family and friends, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Bernard was in action on Sunday when Rivers United played away to Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the First Leg of the Second Round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The game was held in Coted'Ivoire after the home ground of Etoile failed to secure CAF approval.

The game ended in a goalless affair but the players believed they secured the required result in the second leg.

" I'm very happy to play in my country, in front of my family and friends though we failed to win but I believe we will win at home.

"I travelled to Nigeria not knowing anybody but I'm very happy now that I have come home to play", he said.
