CAFCC: Rivers United Eager For Home Return

Sampson Adedeji

After playing all the group stage home games at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Rivers United left-back Ebube Duru says he can't for his team to return back to their home ground in Port-Harcourt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers adopted Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo as their home group after Adokie Amasiemaka Stadium failed to get CAF approval.

Duru admitted Uyo is part of Nigeria too but playing in Port-Harcourt will further boost the confidence of the team.

“Going back to Port Harcourt is better because that is where we train and we know the pitch very well.

But you know football isn’t just on the pitch, the support will be more in Port Harcourt because.

"Regardless of how good Uyo was, there is nothing like your home ground and we are looking forward to the approval.

"We hope everything works out for us, so we can go beyond the quarter-final", he said.

Last season's NPFL champions will host the Young Africans of Tanzania in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup before going to Dares Salam for the second leg.
