Nigeria's representative in the CAF Confederation Cup Rivers United has qualified for the quarter-final of the competition despite playing out a 2-2 draw against Diables Noirs, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The Pride of Rivers already had 9 points before Sunday's game and fell behind in the 27th minute when Emmanuel Ampiah scored an own goal.

Nyima Nwagua scored a brace for the Nigerian champions to get a deserved draw.

Egalisse Bassinga levelled the game for the Congolese towards the tail end but the result was enough to put Rivers United in the next round.

Rivers United will play ASEC Mimosa away in the final group game of the group.
