Sampson Adedeji
Rivers United midfielder Paul Acquah is extremely excited after helping his team to an away win against DC Motema Pembe of DR Congo, BSNSports.com.ng report.
The Congolese side had to adopt Luanda, Angola as their home ground for the Confederation Cup after their stadium failed to get CAF approval.
The Nigeria champions took the game to their opponent from the kick-off and refused to back down despite going a man down late in the first half.
They got the vital goal in the 53rd minute through Paul Acquah and secured a valuable away win.
While reacting to the game, Acquah was happy to score the goal and made sure that they get the maximum points.
" I'm happy about the goal that I scored and I thanked God for scoring the goal and winning the game for my team.
I think everyone is working hard for the team", he said.
Rivers United will confront the same opponent on Matchday 4 of the competition slated for Goodwill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.
