CAFCC: Zamalek Eliminates Enyimba International

Defending champions Zamalek SC of Egypt have successfully ousted former African champions Enyimba International from the CAF Confederation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The two teams faced off in the final group stage match at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday, a must-win game for Enyimba.

However, their hopes were dashed as they were defeated 3-1.

Shalabi gave the hosts the lead in the 29th minute, and Jaziri doubled the advantage for Zamalek early in the second half, scoring in the 48th minute.

Enyimba responded in the 57th minute with a goal from Ifeanyi Ihemekwele, narrowing the gap to 2-1.

However, Jaziri sealed the victory for Zamalek with his second goal of the match in the 87th minute.

 As a result, Enyimba finished outside the top two in their group and were eliminated from the competition at the group stage.
