CAFCL: CAF Gives Rivers United, Others Deadline On Players Registration

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has issued a registration deadline to all clubs participating in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, including Nigeria’s Rivers United, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

CAF confirmed that January 31 is the final date for clubs competing in the group stages of both competitions to update their squads on the CAF Competitions Management System (CMS).

According to the directive, teams are permitted to add new players or remove existing names from their official lists before the deadline. 

This window allows clubs to strengthen their squads or make necessary adjustments ahead of the decisive stages of the tournaments.

CAF also clarified that any players newly registered before the cutoff will become eligible to feature from Matchday 4 of the group stage in both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Rivers United and other African representatives are expected to take advantage of the registration window as they push for improved performances in continental competition.
