The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has intensified its security arrangements ahead of a high-profile CAF Champions League fixture, with its Head of Safety and Security, Christian Emeruwa, set to arrive in South Africa for the crucial encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Emeruwa is departing Cairo to oversee security operations for the much-anticipated clash between Mamelodi Sundowns and Espérance de Tunis.

The fixture is expected to draw a large number of traveling supporters, particularly from Tunisia, prompting CAF to take proactive measures.

The Nigerian security chief is expected to work closely with local organizing authorities and law enforcement agencies to ensure that all safety protocols are strictly implemented.

His presence underscores CAF’s commitment to preventing any crowd-related incidents and maintaining order throughout the match.

This move comes in response to previous security concerns witnessed in high-stakes continental fixtures, with CAF determined to uphold safety standards both inside and outside the stadium.

With emotions set to run high given the magnitude of the tie, attention will not only be on the action on the pitch but also on how effectively security operations are managed off it.
