CAFCL: Finidi Shifts Focus To Black Bulls Clash
Sampson Adedeji
Rivers United head coach Finidi George says his side has now turned full attention to their CAF Champions League second preliminary round clash against Mozambique’s Black Bulls after edging past Les Aigles of DR Congo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Pride of Rivers booked their spot in the next round following a tough contest against the Congolese side and will now battle the Mozambican champions in October for a place in the group stage.
Speaking after their qualification, the former Super Eagles coach acknowledged the need for improvement but expressed confidence in his players’ readiness.
“We are looking forward to the next round, which is the most important. We noticed a lot of lapses and mistakes, and that has pushed us to get better,” Finidi said.
“We will improve, and I’m not too worried. Now we have to plan properly for the next match, especially about our finishing.”
Rivers United will host the first leg before travelling to Mozambique for the decisive return fixture.
